Waste reduction, as the name implies, is anything that reduces
waste by using less material in the first place. It is
doing simple things like using both sides of a sheet of paper, using
ceramic mugs instead of disposable cups or buying in bulk
rather than individually packaged items. The end result is
money saved, resources conserved, pollution reduced, and landfill space saved. To find out how you can save money and reduce trash by simple actions click here.
The Wisconsin Be SMART Coalition is a partnership of local communities, state agencies, non-profit and environmental organizations, and businesses dedicated to reducing waste and fostering sustainability in Wisconsin. If you are interested in joining the Coalition, see our Get Involved page.
